Permanently shrouded in a thin coat of dust from the local limestone quarries, this charming village is the oldest in the region. The main street runs inland past the barbican gateway of the castle, which is not open to the public. At the top of the main street is a forest park with pleasant riverside walks in the upper woodlands beyond the belt of conifers.
