The current late 19C building incorporates part of the 13C building. Ancient tombs, a medieval stone font and stained-glass windows adorn the plain unplastered interior. Near the cathedral, from the top of the restored 30m high round tower, there is a vast panoramic view over the Curragh and the neighbouring counties. Opposite the cathedral, a small road leads to Saint Brigid's tomb and well.
