Bordering the national park of the same name, this town is located on the east bank of Lough Leane, also known as Lower Lake, the largest of the three «jewels» set in a glacial valley. The site is dominated by Macgillycuddy's Reeks, which include the Gap of Dunloe and culminate in the highest point in Ireland, Carrauntoohill (1 041m). Killarney is a truly superb holiday location.
