Bovevagh Church
Bovevagh Church : Michelin's recommendations
This church, now in ruins, dates from the 11C or early 12C. In the cemetery, you can see a funeral building from the same era. Built in freestone, it probably housed relics moved when the chancel was added to the church. On the western gable, a figure holds a cross and raises its other hand in a sign of blessing. Not far from Banagher, in the north, near Bovevagh Church stands a similar funeral building. A hole enabled the relics to be touched from the outisde.
