This former 18C customs house displays the remarkable collection of John and Gertrude Hunt, experts in religious and medieval art. Among the masterpieces is a carved wood sculpture of Apollo god of the arts, a little equestrian bronze attributed to Leonardo, Picasso and Giacometti drawings, and a lovely self-portrait by Englishman Robert Fagan (c 1745-1816), an antiquities dealer in Rome. The archaeology section includes treasures not just from Egypt, Greece and Rome but Ireland too.
