This square was designed in 1751. It is uniformly surrounded on three sides by three-storey houses with simple limestone façades embellished with shouldered architraves on main entrances and plain architraves on red-brick niches. Originally these houses belonged to wealthy people of Limerick, who summered in Kilkee; now restored, they are the property of lawyers, judges and doctors.
