The magnificent 19C building that was formerly used for meetings of port commissioners, is today a museum housing paintings, models, and all sorts of souvenirs linked to maritime life. The major element of this exhibition is a coracle, a light boat made from branches. This, the largest ever built, was completed in 1963 to commemorate the legendary journey of St Columba to Iona.
