St Columb's Cathedral Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

In 1613, the Irish Society took the decision to build a cathedral here, but work did not begin until 1628 and the cathedral was consecrated in 1634. It was the first cathedral built in the British Isles after the Reform. The choir that featured on the original plans was not added until 1887. The entirely crenellated cathedral is in the late Perpendicular gothic style. The tower, topped with a steeple (58 m) dates back to the 19C and houses a peal of 13 bells.
