    Main St. IRL - Mallow

    The fine modern church was built in 1824. The grounds hold the ruins of St. Anne's Church, for which the foundations were laid in 1291. Thomas Davis, the Protestant patriot, was baptised in St Anne's in 1814.

    O'Brien St. IRL - Mallow

    Fitzgerald (1872-1906) was described as a learned patriot, champion of the oppressed. The quotation engraved beneath the statue, «Ireland has not in our time lost a more able or unselfish young patriot,» is by William O'Brien.

    Main Street IRL - Mallow

    This curious Tudor-style half-timbered building (1855) seems singularly out of place. Its four storeys adjoin the Clock Tower.

    Bridge St. IRL - Mallow

    The castle (private) is surrounded by ample grounds, with a deer park extending to the River Blackwater, with its impressive weir (dam). Ruins of a four-storey 17C castle stand at the entrance to the estate.
