Nenagh
: Michelin's recommendations
The administrative centre of Tipperary North Riding, Nenagh is located between Lake Dergh and the Silvermine and Arra Mountains. The town was first settled by Anglo-Normans in the 12C. In the 19C, it became an important garrison town. The 13C Franciscan friary, once quite well-known in Ireland, was dissolved in the reign of Elisabeth I and eventually fell into ruin. Today only the church remains.
