Standing within the castle walls is an elegant three-storey house (18C) containing a handsome pine staircase. It was built in 1715 by Joseph Damer, the richest man in Ireland at his death in 1720, whose family settled in Ireland in 1661. Today the building presents exhibitions of local historical interest.
