Drombeg is probably the most impressive of the 60 cromlechs, or stone circles, built in prehistoric times in West Cork. Fourteen evenly-spaced stones form a enclosed circle 9m in diameter. Cromlechs usually have an uneven number of stones. Of similar antiquity is the nearby cooking pit.
