The ancestral home of the Wilsons is a whitewashed hatched house where James Wilson, grandfather of Woodrow Wilson (US President 1913-1921), lived until he left for America aged 20 in 1807. the house still contains original furniture: a fold-down bed near the kitchen fire and others in the main bedroom. The Wilsons still live here, in the modern farmhouse behind the cottage.
