The house, a fine Palladian mansion designed by Richard Castle in the 1730s, consists of a three-storey block with a pillared portico, linked to the service wings by curving corridors. In the 19C, the splendid vaulted stables led to the courtyard through an underground passage on the north of the house. The two walled gardens have been fully restored to their original splendour.
