Lying just north of Dublin, this is an agricultural area with a long coastline. The resort of Skerries has many beaches and a resident colony of grey seals; it is also where the famous Dublin bay prawns are landed. Another resort is Portmarnock, renowned for its long beach, the Velvet Strand, and golf course. The area has many historical sites, elegant parks surrounding stately homes and the lovely resort of Malahide.
