: Michelin's recommendations
Set on the Argideen estuary, this village is dominated by a ruined Franciscan friary, founded in 1320 and plundered by Oliver Cromwell in 1642. The extensive ruins include the cloisters, the outer courtyard and 800m to the South the ruins of a 12C leper hospital. The remains of Barrymore Castle are surrounded by splendid gardens.

Mill St. IRL - Timoleague
Sweet little restaurant in a small coastal village, with quarry tiled floor and pleasant courtyard. Fresh, seasonal cooking offers unfussy, traditionally based dishes. Menus evolve as new ingredients arrive; fish is from the local boats.
