The ruins of a hospital founded in the 13C by a mendicant order, the Crutched Friars, who wore a cross on their habits, stand on the south bank of the River Boyne. The buildings are divided between the keep with several fireplaces, a chapel (in ruins) with a triple-light window, and the hospital and stores beside the river.
