This neo-Gothic church was consecrated in 1872, with a pencil spire above the main gate. Below the hammer roof, the interior is richly decorated with marble mosaic murals depicting scenes from the gospel, the work of Italian artists. Canon James Owen Hannay, whose pen-name was George A. Bermingham, was the rector between 1892 and 1913.
