This residence is the work of several architects. Richard Castle designed the east front in 1730, Thomas Ivory the south elevation in 1778 and James Wyatt the west front, around 1780. The lake was created during the 18C by damming the Carrowbeg River. The garden terraces were laid out in the early 19C. During the tour of the main rooms and bedrooms, visitors can admire the elegant decor and many outstanding exhibits.
