The Anglican church stands on a site devoted to Christian worship for almost 1500 years, originally by the water's edge. The present church was built in 1760 in Georgian style, with an Ionic reredos and two Corinthian columns screening the sanctuary and nave. The Venetian-style facade was added in the mid-19C.
