Cuisine British modern

Menu: £20 (weekday dinner) / £23 - Carte: £24/£37

A favourite with the locals is this smart, modern, first floor restaurant; accessed down a narrow town centre passageway and decorated with contemporary art. Menus offer British and Mediterranean dishes, with local seafood and steaks a speciality. Good value set menus are available at both lunch and dinner.

      Pros

The service was very friendly and they were very helpful and accommodating of our 7 month old daughter. The food started off good. Its local and fresh which is lovely. Nice setting.

      Cons

First floor restaurant, no lift so difficult to access for those with mobility issues or kids in prams. We had to send one main course back as it didn't taste of anything and the rice that was used was definitely not risotto rice. The other main course was borderline - the fish was so overcooked it had completely ruined it. Maybe we were spoiled having lived in France, but the profiteroles weren't up to scratch either.
