The Andrew Jackson Centre is set in a 17C cottage which has been restored to its original condition, with earthen floor, original fireplace and hanging crane. The furniture dates from the 1850s. The gallery traces the Ulster-American connection, in particular the life of Andrew Jackson, 7^th President of the USA, whose Irish parents emigrated to South Carolina in 1765. The adjoining US Rangers Centre presents the story of this American force, which was formed in Northern Ireland in 1942 to spearhead the invasions of the Second World War.
