The bleak hilltop in the Bricklieve Mountains (321m) commands a fine view of the surrounding countryside. It is also the site of Carrowkeel Megalithic Cemetery and the stone mounds, mostly round, contain passage graves dating from the Late Stone Age (2500-2000 BC). On a lower ridge to the east are some 50 round huts, probably the dwellings of those who built the tombs.
