Castle Caldwell Forest Park is a forest covering two long fingers of land at the western end of Lough Erne, one of the largest lakes in Ireland. It is used for timber production, as an ornithological reserve and for recreational activities. Birds such as the common scoter duck can be seen here. Beside the Visitor Centre is a Fermanagh cot, a flat-bottomed boat which was used to transport cattle and sheep across the lough.
