This neo-Classical residence was built by James Gandon in 1792 for John Dawson, a banker and architect. Louis Vulliamy then carried out the interior decoration (1835-1840). A visit to the residence includes the reception area, restored to all its past glory. There is also some beautiful furniture. Outside the residence a path planted with sequoias, the first of its kind in Ireland, leads to the Dublin road. Its vast gardens stretch out to the lake.
