A beautiful conical mountain, Errigal is the highest peak in Donegal (752m). You can get a closer look by going around it on the little road that heads off from near the pub, right opposite the church, at the entrance to the village of Dunlewy. To climb up (allow 4hr, not difficult but tiring), continue on the R 251 after the youth hostel to the car park. Once you reach the top, your efforts will be well rewarded by the view over the whole mountain chain and the north coast.
