Glenveagh National Park (9 667ha) consists of Lough Beagh, the surrounding bog, moorland and natrual woodlands of oak and birch. The luxurious gardens around a romantic granite castle, situated on a hill near the lake, are a vivid contrast. The Visitor Centre is a cluster of grass-topped pavilions hidden in a depression. The planting of the garens is designed to provide colour and interest throughout the seasons.
