Inaugurated in 1967, this park only represents a part of the vast conifer Gortin Forest, reserved for commercial exploitation of building wood. The forest path (8 km, one way only), gives some fine views of the Sperrin Mountains. Detailed information is giving in the Nature Centre and along the slopes. A nature reserve is good for observing the Japanese deer up close; you can also see the wild birds on the water.
