Even though the house once set in these beautiful gardens has long been replaced by a modern school, it still illustrates the perfect collaboration between architect Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944) and landscape artist Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932). The architectural designs dominate the terraced gardens, with its impressive, well- preserved walls, flights of steps, and paths lined



with lime trees and sculpted yew hedges.
