Inishowen (Inis Eoghain) Panoramic Route Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The peninsula’s name is derived from Eoghain, a 5C king and contemporary of St Patrick. From Buncrana, the road follows the Inishowen peninsula coastline, culminating at Malin Head, Ireland’s northernmost point. This is a landscape of forbidding mountains covered by peat bog, fringed by steep cliffs and vast expanses of sand (Ballyliffin, Kinnagoe bay and Greencastle). Its little harbours have fishermen’s thatched huts, secured with ropes to resist the wind.
