Although not an island, this peninsula feels quite detached from the rest of Ulster. The road along the west side provides a good view across Larne Lough, a small stretch of sea that resembles a lake. At the north end of Island Magee, in the garden of a private house, stands the Ballylumford Dolmen, an interesting Neolithic burial monument consisting of four stones supporting a capstone. In the south of the peninsula are The Gobbins, a 3km stretch of cliffs.
