This impressive ruin, which includes sections of walls, is reflected on the surface of the River Camoge. The 12C Cistercian abbey, inhabited by Mellifont monks, was founded by Turlough O'Brien, King of Thomond, in thanks to God for his victory over the Danes at the Battle of Rathmore in 1148.
