This untamed peninsula promises spectacular panoramic views. For walkers, the Sheep's Head Way is a major itinerary. It forms a circuit starting at Bantry, is not difficult and you can opt to do just one section. By car, from Durrus, the road runs close to the water, taking in the charming port of Ahakista and the village of Kilcrohane. After a succession of corries, you arrive at the headland of Sheep's Head, with its craggy rocks and windswept moor – spectacular in heavy weather.
