Standing 345m above sea level, Slieve Elva is an unusual landscape made up entirely of heaps of limestone. The rocks resemble a remarkable tangle of stone chimneys, canyons, plateaux cleaved by valleys; strange monumental boulders lie here and there, as if strewn about at the will of some facetious god.
