St Brendan's Cathedral Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
Built in the 12C on the site of an old monastery founded in 563 by St Brendan, the cathedral is renowned for its fine main doorway in red sandstone, a masterpiece of Irish Romanesque. The triangular gable surmounting it alternates human heads and triangles over six receding arches embellished by a wide variety of fantastic motifs and animal heads. The sixth arch was added in the 15C, at the same time as the tower, south transept and sacristy.
