Altilia Saepinum
: Michelin's recommendations
This small town in the Molise region, built in the 17C with plundered stone, lies 50km south of Campobasso. The town is worth a visit for the ruined Roman city of Saepinium in its centre, which was founded by the Samnites, then subsequently occupied by the Romans. The latter made the town a municipality and built a city wall with four fortified gates and 25 towers.

Porte de Boiano

Two towers, which Tiberius dedicated to his brother Drusus, frame this gateway at the end of the decuman. It takes you to the town centre and the well-preserved western section of the perimeter wall.
