Arbatax Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Arbatax, huddling at the foot of the granite promontory of Capo Bellavista, is the port for nearby Tortolì. The magnificent red porphyry rocks at the southern end of the harbour have given their name to a local music festival, the Roccerosse Blues (held in August). The Trenino Verde, a charming tourist train, runs from near the port to Mandas in the heart of the island. North of Arbatax, a long beach lines the Stagno di Tortolì, a superb lagoon visited by herons and pink flamingos.
