Argentiera : Michelin's recommendations

In this metal-bearing region, people lived off the extraction of lead, zinc and silver until the closure of the mine in 1963. Set back from the beautiful clear waters of the beaches, this place has the feel of a ghost town in the Far West, with the remains of its former industry still in place: the well, washing plant, warehouses, workers' accommodation, cinema. Argentiera is destined to become home to a park for tourists and cultural activities. In the meantime you can admire the sublime view over the little San Nicola gulf from the top of the hill.
