The town of Barumini, surrounded by remains from the earliest period of Sardinian history, is a must for archaeology enthusiasts with its typical “nuraghis”. These structures date from between 1800 and 500 BC and were used by the early Sardinians as dwellings, watchtowers and even strongholds.
