Bergamo Travel guide
Bergamo : Michelin's recommendations
One of the main cities in Lombardy, Bergamo is the home of the Commedia dell'Arte. It is divided into two sections: a modern lower town with wide shopping avenues and 19C and 20C architecture; and an old upper town, with a maze of narrow streets and medieval and Renaissance monuments surrounded by its old walls. The city’s churches and museums house various works by the artist Lorenzo Lotto, who worked here from 1513-25.
