Bolsena : Michelin's recommendations

Bolsena, the ancient Etruscan city of Volsinii, stands on the banks of Italy’s largest lake of volcanic origin, welcoming visitors to its shaded shores and beach. The old town, clustered on a hilltop, is home to dark houses and St Christina's church, said to be the site of a famous miracle. According to legend, the host began to bleed at the moment of consecration, thus convincing the sceptical priest of the doctrine of transubstantiation. The Corpus Christi festival has its origins in this miracle.
