Situated on the western coast, in the middle of the exceptional wine-growing territory where Malvasia is produced, Bosa has a charming, somewhat Ligurian feel that is sometimes tinged with a sweet melancholy. At the foot of the castle is a tangle of little streets, arcades and small squares. On the doorsteps of the tall pastel-coloured houses short on windows, the women carry on the tradition of lace-making. There are multicoloured fishing boats all along the palm tree-lined quays, in front of the brick factories where leather used to be tanned.
