Today the Brescia town hall, this Loggia was built in the late 15C to the early 16C by various architects including Sansovino and Palladio who helped build the top level. Opposite, the clock tower is surmounted by two jack-of-the-clocks which sound the hours. On the south side are the palaces of the old and new pawnbroker's. Finally, north of the square there is a popular area with many arches and old houses.
