Burgos
: Michelin's recommendations
Burgos is famed for its castle (1127-1129), a formidable strategic outpost that welcomed Artaldo, son of Leonardo di Alagon, the standard-bearer of Sardinia's fight for freedom, on the eve of the Battle of Macomer in 1478. Above the rooftops can be seen the conical turret and quadrangular tower of the castle, which was built upon the rock and is surrounded by a U-shaped wall. The view from the manor takes in the surrounding countryside, from Valle del Tirso to Supramonte di Oliena and from Ortobene to Monte di Gonare.
