The San Domenico convent complex, built in the 13C to house Sardinia's first Dominican community, is a highly successful example of Aragonese Gothic architecture in Cagliari. Although the exterior had to be rebuilt in 1950 after the bombing of 1943, the interior still has elements of the original structure and 15C additions. Note the beautifully crafted cloister, whose southern and eastern sides are masterpieces of the architectural elegance of the Late Gothic.
