This 30-m high defensive tower was built out of blocks of white limestone. Constructed two years after the Torre di San Pancrazio, it has the same layout and form, both with three walls closed to the exterior, the interior side being open. The tower, designed by architect Giovanni Capula, is named after the statue of an elephant perched on a console, which looms at a height of more than 10m. It is well worth climbing the 119 steps for the magnificent panoramic view.
