This historic street, which forms the base of the trapeze-shaped old quarter, was famed for its horse races, which were held as late as the last century. Rows of small buildings and charming, colourful little houses are typical of the area. At the start of the street, you will notice the handsome facade of the church Chiesa di Sant'Anna (1785), with its two bell towers, and, at the other end, the Chiesa di San Michele, a masterpiece combining Jesuit and Spanish Baroque architecture.
