Set entirely within Lombardy, Lake Como, of all the Italian lakes, has the most variety. Pretty villages, tiny ports, villas set in shady, exotic gardens succeed one another along the banks of this lake in the alpine foothills. The most picturesque section lies at the confluence of its three arms, at the promontory of Bellagio.
