Conegliano : Michelin's recommendations
This small town is surrounded by hills planted with orchards and vineyards which produce an excellent white wine. Its castle is now home to two small museums and offers a fine view of the town. Also of interest are the Scuola dei Battuti, adorned with 15C and 16C frescoes in Lombard and Venetian styles, and the Duomo (cathedral). The latter houses a fine Sacra Conversazione by the local painter, Cima da Conegliano (1459-1518), a pupil of Giovanni Bellini and a superb colourist.
