With a façade embellished by bosses (8 500 “diamonds” covering its walls), this palace is the most important work by architect Biagio Rossetti, who clearly intended angularity to be the key feature. It accommodates the Pinacoteca Nazionale gallery where visitors can trace the development of Ferraran, Emilian and Venetian painting from the 13C to the 18C. Cosimo Tura is of course represented, as are Carpaccio, Ortolano (Deposition) and Garofalo (altarpieces).
